cartoons vs fine art

i have a real passion for cartoons and sometimes i call it the under estimated art because you go into a fine arts gallery and some of the art is real abstract and look really cool then you got your landscapes and the other art looks like something a 4 year-old does with finger paint. now don't get me wrong, i know colors are the expressions of how your feeling inside as a artist, but when i draw cartoons i do the same thing. i may not be expressing myself with splats of colors but i'm putting them into my cartoon characters. like what it's doing in action and in facial expression.

 by the way, I am American and I live in St. Petersburg, Florida. i know in other places places on the other side of the world or Nation... even state, may view this topic differently, but here in my home town this is how it is.

Anyways, for the past 3 years i've been painting vinyl records. at first when i started i was doing music related designs and whatever i came up with, but after like 6 months i started to do alot more cartoons. like a mix of Old 40's cartoons to what you see on tv today. i've always wanting to work in the cartoon world since i was 5 and it's still a dream. i never worked for a company before and i just do these for fun.
here are some cartoon paintings i did on vinyl records.  paintings featured are  family guy- drunkin irish dad, regular show- mordecai, snoopy and the red barron, earthworm jim, darkwing duck, tex avery cartoon-billy boy,  inspector gadget- brain, blue falcon and dynomutt,  wacky racers- dick dastardly, cookie monster, hong kong phooey and ren and stimpy

my personal favorite drawings

Hello peoples that actually came across my blog and want to read it, and good bye to the people that got the wrong page and close it as soon as you get on. I have been drawing a lot lately and that's due to my computer being down for about 2 months. I guess for anyone that would be such a bad thing, but for me it was... yeah it was bad. So during that time I had to give myself entertainment. i did some flashback thinking and asked myself "when was the last time i didn't have a computer?" turns out last time there was no computer in the house was during the 90's. So I felt like a kid again having cartoons go one in the back round and me drawing. It actually was kinda cool getting that vibe again, i came up with some great new ideas that I will share here and were ever you find the username ViXX313. these are some of my personal favorite drawings i came up with during the computerless down time. hope you peoples enjoy them -ViXX

just some fan art i drew of my home town teams. i hope someday to do something like this professionally, but until that day comes, i'll just show off my talent.
i'm up for hire if anyone needs a cartoonist.


anyways. i love sports! but just the thing about the Tampa Bay sports is- everyone isn't from here. so, it goes like this, if you ever go to a home game here in tampa, just about half the crowd (or more) is cheering for the other team because that's were they're from. other then that, there times when people will cheer for the home team is if tampa is a league champ and people are just jumping on a bandwagon.

I remember when i went to a White Sox game in Chicago. There was not one person in that place cheering for the other team. they were all in black, and sox gear, cheering for Chicago. i was sooo amazed by the pride, i loved it. i remember saying wow, i hope it gets like this with the Rays someday. sure enough that was the year the Rays won the AL East Champion and went to the World Series...of course they didn't win but still, they were champs. so the fan base went up. there is still people cheering of the away teams but more rays fans.

its a calm night tonight, and i have nothing better to do but blog. i figured i haven't updated in almost 2 years this is the perfect time to do it.

really alls i been doing since my last post was trying to make a living outta my talent. it really takes some hard work, focus, investment, and lots of patients. i've come to understand that there will be some hits and misses, but you really gotta hang in there to make that big hit. if you believe your something special with what you have, the whole world will see it and want to know what your about at least thats my belief. i really am looking forward to see the next person to come out with the next greatest thing, it really could be anyone.

so i go to the craft store today for some paper, and all i see is valentines day stuff! so i guess as a early treat i'll post my dead sexy cupid pictures. seriously thanks to the internet cupid doesn't have to use his arrows anymore. i'm sure hes working as a successful match maker at eharmony or some other site, but i'm sure he still misses shooting people wit arrows.
